Leatherique
Prime leather conditioner.
We use 3 different leather conditioners, depending on the vehicle.
Our prime product is Leatherique, and it is used when we are performing a detail that will take a full day.
After washing the vehicle, the next process is to wipe down the leather and apply Leatherique using a foam paint brush. Once applied, the leather is covered in a plastic bag cut open to fit the seats, and the vehicle is closed for the duration of the exterior detail.
Leatherique Conditioner will leave a tacky surface unless the process is properly completed. Leatherique Cleaner is then used to remove the dirt and oils that the conditioner has brought to the surface and once removed leaves the most supple leather of any conditioner we have used.
We do not recommend using Leatherique casually, or more than twice a year. You might have read on Autogeek, bimmer.roadfly.com or Autopia.org that the product isn't all that... One bad review in question said that it removed the gloss from his BMW's armrest. Obviously his "armrest" had been repaired via leather dying. and had nothing to do with the conditioner.
We need to know upfront if any repairs have been made to the coloring of your leather, as any conditioner will fail if this is present.
When you get a new baseball glove, the first thing you do is condition the leather. I used to heavily condition it with Lexol or Saddlesoap and leave it in a plastic bag for a week or two.
The same application applies here too. We lightly apply the Leatherique, then wrap the seat in a split plastic bag, and then after soaking for more than 6 hours, remove the remaining product and subsequent dirt with Leatherique Cleaner.
The result is astounding. A supple leather, very clean and as good or better than new.
Cheap leathers or leather that have holes in them, such as Ford, Chevrolet or Hyundai have no need for Leatherique. Any bolsters that are solid are always conditioned with Leatherique to avoid later cracking.
Optimum Leather conditioner is used on leather that has holes, and is an excellent 2nd level conditioner.
